The Bottom Line

Jews were in the land called Palestine long before Islam existed. Following millennia of subjugation, displacement, persecution, torture, and murder at the hands of European and Arab overlords, and in the aftermath of WWII, still the Europeans were not keen to give the European Jews a homeland in Europe.

The UN agreed on a plan for three virtually separate Jewish regions in Palestine (which is a place—not a people). The Arabs refused to participate in the UN deliberations.

When the Jews declared the state of Israel in this land to which they had been assigned (a land that is their historical homeland and was not the European Jews’ home) all Arabs in the region immediately attacked. Throughout many wars, either triggered by Arab attack or intelligence indicating attack was imminent, the Jews conquered territory—most of which they returned to the Arabs. But they refused to recede to borders that they (Israeli Jews) saw (and see) as indefensible.

To this day, the “Palestinians” (in various militant forms) launch rockets on and bomb soft targets within Israel, while Hamas (now not just a terrorist organization but the Gazans’ elected government) denies Israel even the right to exist (you will find that the destruction of the Sate of Israel is called for in the Hamas charter).

Liberal Europeans and Americans, perhaps weary of war, have rewritten history so that the “Palestinians” (who had been given a two state solution that they rejected in favor of war with Israel in 1948) are victims. They assert that Palestine is the “Palestinians’” homeland; that Zionists are occupiers; that Israel is an “apartheid” state. They blame the Jews who were victims in their ancient homeland, who were victims for millennia, who were furnished this one place by the Europeans—they blame these same Jews for problems in the region.

In the meantime, Jews have no other homeland. Ergo, there remains no place on earth that Jews can feel safe because they have been at the mercy of cruel tyrants over and over again throughout history, and they are bombed in their homes now!

To recap, the Europeans decided to give the Jews a few tiny reservations on some crappy desert land in Palestine because they didn’t want to give up any European land. The Arabs were against it. The Europeans did it anyway. The Arabs attacked the Jews who had just fled the Holocaust. The Jews created a defensible territory. Arabs kill as many Jews as they can whenever they can inside of the Jewish homeland, while the “progressives” blame the Jews for it. And the Jews have no recourse but unending struggle to exist freely in at least one place.
